Why Weβre Doing Thisβ¦
Our companyβs founder, Emilio Daniel Vasquez, had a difficult childhood: several siblings and had more than once been homeless. His community embraced him and helped to put him on a better path in life, so he decided to pay it forward using the power of coffee to give back to those in need.
Purpose
Weβre here to change the perception of black coffee in America while uplifting the communities within which we operate, and advocating for higher pay and labor standards for coffee producers abroad.
Mission
CCB is a for-profit company providing bagged specialty coffee and tea online to consumers via our website, and serving in-person at events as an entertaining and exciting catering experience.
Vision
Weβll expand our impact to communities across the nation via a large network of affordable coffee carts operated by solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who have less resources to get into this very competitive industry.
Values
We strive for quality of flavor, production sustainability, diversity of race and gender identities within our company, advocation for healthy lifestyles, and encourage corporations to be more philanthropic.
Meet the People Who Inspire Our Purpose
Non-Profit Partnerships
We work with non-profits like Learning Works Charter School (LWCS). Their mission is to provide a personalized, rigorous academic program and relevant life skills to traditionally underserved, at-risk students in grades 6 β 12 who have withdrawn or are in danger of withdrawing from mainstream education without attaining a high school diploma.
Independent Farms & Coops
Most commercial or βcommodityβ coffees come from farms who care more about their profit margins than the well-being of those who pick the crop and the nature around it. βSpecialtyβ coffees like ours come from smaller farms and co-ops who are focused on quality over quantity, non-destructive organic farming practices and who pay laborers more than industry averages.
Our Pasadena Specialty Coffee Dream Team, and Partners in Company Ownership
We’re proud to be a minority-owned and black-owned business from Southern California.
