Strawberry Sweetheart Latte

This extremely delicious recipe is a perfect Valentine's Day treat for any coffee lover. Find out just how easy it is to make!

About This Recipe

A tall, refreshing glass of gourmet coffee mixed with delicious strawberry flavors, and topped with whipped cream, fresh fruit, and sweetheart candies to create this fun Valentine’s Day treat.

Ingredients

  • 8oz fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar or monkfruit sweetener (natural sugar substitute)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups milk of choice (we used almond milk)
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy whipping cream or almond milk
  • 1-2 shots of espresso, 6-8oz of brewed coffee or our refreshing cascara tea.
  • Ice (optional)

 

Directions

  1. Put strawberries into a small saucepan.
  2. Add sugar and water.
  3. Bring it to a boil.
  4. Simmer and stir occasionally for about 5-7 minutes until reduced and strawberries are pleasantly puréed.
  5. Press the strawberries through a fine mesh strainer to filter out the syrup.
  6. Discard the bits of strawberry or keep them for homemade fruit parfaits, açaí bowls, oatmeal, smoothies, etc.
  7. Let syrup cool then slightly stir into the 2 cups of milk.
  8. Momentarily set aside your newly made strawberry milk.
  9. Whip the heavy whipping cream using a whisk or hand frother until fluffy and smooth.
  10. Pour the strawberry milk into a glass.
  11. Add coffee or tea.
  12. Add ice if desired.
  13. Add whipped cream.
  14. Garnish with strawberry slices and/or chocolate powder.
